when i write topical i start strong but after a few lines DAMN dont know where to go. All i do is just read out loud my written lines in head but that doesn't help much. So what should i do to write my rest of verse. Should i take a break and come back again? Or there r some kinds of questions i should ask to myself to unlock my brain? HELP
whats a good syllable count for topicals?
Whenever you're doing a topical, be sure to understand you direction in which you are going, draft up your beginning, middle, and end in your mind or on paper, notepad, etc, etc...
...it's like a journey if you know the ending already all you have to do is tell the reader how you got to it. Do not over work your brain, that's why you're running into writer's block.
Just relax, take a break, and gather your thoughts.
^18 max...in my opinion.
More syllables than that can, and has been, pulled off, but it's hard, especially if you're new to writing, it's easy to get carried away on a line, especially if you really like it because you want to put in more words to really do it justice, but this can be counter-productive, and it can make a line seem really stretched...as I said, not impossible to do a good line with 20+ syllables, but not easy either.
any tips? :)
